Jerry Jones Will Be a Character in an Adult Swim Series

Adult Swim’s newest series will brush up against the world of the NFL — or, at least, its most famous team owner.

The cable network has ordered a series called Keeping Up With the Joneses from creators Hugh Davidson, Rachel Ramras and Larry Dorf. The 10-episode, half-hour show will chronicle the Newberry family of Dallas as they try to “keep up” with their staggeringly wealthy neighbors — including Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who lives next door. The animated version of Jones will be a character in the series (though voiced by an actor, not by Jones himself).

Adult Swim announced the series order at Annecy Animation Festival, where earlier in the week it revealed a two-season renewal for Smiling Friends.

Davidson, Ramras and Dorf previously co-created Netflix’s The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, a satire of psychological thrillers that starred Kristen Bell. The Groundlings alums also created Nobodies for TV Land. Davidson and Ramras are also Adult Swim veterans, having worked on Mike Tyson Mysteries and the Young Person’s Guide to History specials. Davidson was also a writer on Robot Chicken.

Warner Bros. Animation is producing Keeping Up With the Joneses. Davidson, Ramras and Dorf will executive produce with WB Animation president Sam Register.
