Netflix debuted new teasers, images and behind-the-scenes insights for Beastars, Blue Eye Samurai, Record of Ragnarok III, Sakamoto Days, and more during its Anime Expo presentation in the Peacock Theater on Saturday.
The day’s panel kicked off with a sizzle reel followed by the trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which was announced during a CD Projekt Red panel Friday. Showrunner Bartosz Sztybor was in attendance to tease the standalone follow-up.
“When we first started making Cyberpunk, we never imagined what it was going to be. I thought that just five people would see the first season, and I would die forgotten,” Sztybor said. “So thank you for being here, and thank you for watching Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Thank you for the love that you gave to the show and all the creators.”
Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, co-creators of Blue Eye Samurai, and executive producer Jane Wu all appeared via pre-taped interviews, previewing the return of the Emmy-winning series. Setting up season two, Noizumi shared that Mizu’s “journey remains the same. Revenge is her religion.” Green went on to add that Mizu “believes that at least two of [the men] that she’s out to kill are going to be somewhere in this magical place called London,” and that season two will kick off with her “breaking in somewhere to kill someone.”
Fans can expect to see the return of the Swordmaker, Ringo, Taigen and Akemi, with Noizumi teasing, “there are also going to be maybe some people you thought died, who maybe are still alive.”
Among the panel’s other offerings was new artwork for part two of Beasters’ final season, along with an announcement that it will arrive in 2026. Fans of Record of Ragnarok III were treated to brief appearances by two voice actors — Cory Yee and J. Michael Tatum — alongside a trailer for season three.
Fans of the newer series Sakamota Days were gifted a sit-down with the show’s creative leads, director Masaki Watanabe and producer Genki Ito, who shared their experiences feeling the “zeal and the passion” from the fans at Anime Expo and acknowledged the show’s success.
“So many people globally have loved and enjoyed this show. It exceeded our imagination, and I’m really moved. I really feel this joy from your support,” Ito told the crowd. The duo also teased that part two — which debuts on July 14 — will introduce new characters “one after the other,” feature more intense action sequences, and a Yoichi Nagumo battle.
Additional previews and exclusive clips were screened tied to The Summer Hikaru Died, romance The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity and the upcoming series My Melody & Kuromi.
